At Discovery, we believe that kids can have fun learning about God and that adults can grow in their own walk with God while volunteering alongside kids.

Each class has adults who have been carefully screened and background checked in order to maintain the safest environment possible. No matter the room, you’ll find lots of fun, laughter, good discussion, and space to check out the claims of Christ and your walk with Him.

Nursery

(Infants – Walkers)

This room provides care for our littlest ones at Discovery.  There are baby seats, Boppy pillows, rocking chairs, swings, books, and lots of age appropriate toys to keep your little one busy while you are worshipping.  We have a crib available if a morning nap is in order. Nursing moms are also more than welcome to come and use this area. This area is staffed with volunteers who are just waiting to share God’s love with these babies.

Little Explorers

(Walkers – 23 months)

Our Little Explorers room is designed for children walking to 23 months.  We have plenty of age appropriate toys and books. Our Trail Guides share Bible stories and songs to begin sharing Jesus’s love with these toddlers. We also have a highchair table for kids to enjoy a snack and coloring sheet.

Rock Hoppers

(2-3 year olds)

Our Rock Hopper room is designed for children ages 2-3 years. While we have plenty of age appropriate toys and play time, we also have structured activities that help reinforce the morning’s lesson. Our morning has a lesson that includes story time, simple craft, songs, memory verse, and movement activities, all of which help the kids learn of God’s love for them.

Adventure Zone

(Age 4 – Pre K)

Our Adventure Zone kids make up the preschool community at Discovery. After your child has checked in for the morning, he or she can participate in our opening activities. After opening activities, the kids join our elementary school classes for worship. This is followed by large group time. Large group time consists of any combination of the following: a story or skit, a group game, a short video clip, or reciting an action-filled memory verse. Children then go back to their classroom for small group time. During small group time, children listen to a Bible story, participate in an activity or game, and enjoy a snack together as a group. The group prays together as they work on developing relationships with each other. Small group leaders make the children feel important by listening to them and reinforce the main point of the morning.

Kids Quest

(Kindergarten & 1st Grade)

As our students enter grade school, they become part of our Kids Quest group. We believe that learning about Jesus can and should be fun. No matter the curriculum we are using, the morning is packed with a variety of hands-on activities: games, crafts, and puzzles that help teach the Bible truth for the week. The kids take part in a time of worship and hearing from one of our gifted storytellers. The morning wraps up with small group and prayer time to connect with other kids and with their Trail Guides. While our Kids Quest (Kindergarten and 1st grade) and Trail Blazers (2nd and 3rd grade) classes learn about the same story/Bible truth, the activities are geared toward each specific grade level.

Quest 45

(4th and 5th grade)

Quest 45 creates a safe place for pre-teens (grades 4 and 5) to continue their journey learning about God’s love for them. The kids are given space to express all aspects of their learning: joy over new truths, doubt, or wrestling. Our activities are geared for this age group which flips back and forth between wanting to be a kid and wanting to be a teen. Games, silly skits, videos, crafts, discussion, and small group time all direct pre-teens to God’s truth found in the Bible. Our traversing wall opens up at the end of class for some time climbing around. There are also quarterly events for fun and relationship building both with peers, teen youth leaders, and adult Trail Guides.

The Avenue

(for Special Needs Children)

Discovery is passionate about providing an inclusive environment for children with Special Needs to participate on Sunday mornings alongside their peers. If your child needs assistance to participate in the classroom, we offer a buddy system which pairs a fun, loving adult with your child for the morning. The buddy will assist your child in participating in the planned activities of the class with the other children. If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Kaity Moller . We would love to hear from you prior to bringing your child for the first time so we can get to know you better and discuss how we can best serve your family.

Club Odyssey

Club Odyssey is for kids K-5th grade whose families attend 2 services. It runs during 2nd service as an alternative to attending their class two times. Kids get a chance to have a snack, play games, build relationships, go outside, and listen to an episode of “Adventures in Odyssey.”
