MISSION FIELD
Discovery got connected with both Pastor Nelson and Pastor Jesus through Praying Pelican Missions (PPM), a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and encourage local churches around the globe. PPM desires to connect churches across cultures that can form a deep reciprocal relationship of care and support.
Pastor Nelson has been the pastor of Iglesia Cristiana Monte de Dios for over thirty years. Iglesia Cristiana Monte de Dios is located in a beautiful village surrounded by papaya plantations. The church has a deep desire to reach its community with the gospel. Pastor Nelson and his congregation have been partners of Discovery since 2022.
Pastor Jesus and his wife have been serving at Hosanna Parrita church for many years. With their church congregation, they minister to nearly 200 children monthly. They serve their community through outreach and discipleship. Discovery’s Youth Ministry met Pastor Jesus in 2016 and has taken multiple trips to visit and serve with the Hosanna Parrita congregation. They are kind and welcoming. We enjoy afternoon coffees and playing soccer with them when we visit.
