elder roles
Establishes and oversees the general direction of Discovery in accordance to the Church’s mission, vision, values, and beliefs.
Shepherds people at Discovery in their spiritual health.
Approves and tracks the Fiscal Budget as presented by the Church Staff. The Elder Board shall vote on any item that alters the Fiscal Budget and may approve any amendment to the Fiscal Budget by a majority vote at any time during the fiscal year.
Acts as the voting and decision-making body of Discovery.
Serves as the decision-making body for Discovery in matters of legal contractual responsibility.
Provides oversight, accountability, feedback, annual reviews, and selection (when necessary) of the Lead Pastor.
Ensures that the members of the Elder Board and Lead Pastor are upholding the Discovery Purpose, Statement of Faith, and Nicene Creed.
