ABOUT

Juvenile Justice Ministry works with youth in the system—the most marginalized in the state. These are young people that are a part of the Division of Youth Services and the Department of Human Services. Some of the youth are Children in Need of Services (CHINS), some are involved in the legal system, and some cannot stay at home or in their current living situations. These youth have no social community to be involved in and lack resources and opportunities.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

When you invest in this mission and come alongside a young person, in humility and with a posture to learn, you are transformed along with them. Giving your time and money changes the trajectory of these young people’s lives—many who are creative, artistic and entrepreneurial youth leaders.

Volunteer as a mentor, as part of our active prayer team, Bible study leaders, and more.

I got involved thinking I was going to change someone’s life and in turn my life has been changed by our young people. I’ve learned so much. They are truly my friends!

Juvenile Justice Ministry September Updates

Hear how the staff and mentors of JJM served youth this challenging summer.

Gareth Unruh, Chief Ministry Officer of Youth for Christ, shares prayer requests.

I went straight to church after JJM last night and after communion our lead pastor Steve Cuss invited us to pray for somebody in need and I was like I’ve got like 50 kids in serious trouble Aaaaa!!! Then, as if he heard me he said “just say their name. God already knows what they’re suffering and He knows what they need.

All I want to do is fit in. JJM allows me to feel like I belong.
— Alexis (pseudonym for JJM youth)
There’s no way we can carry all of the stuff our kids go thru so it does put us in a place of needing Jesus to step in and carry it all on their behalf.
