Sunday Mornings
Nursery Volunteer
Our nursery is full! We are looking for people who would love to snuggle with some babies and serve in our nursery. You can make a positive impact on both our kids and parent's Sunday mornings. If you're interested or have any questions, please email kelsey@dc2.me.
Serving Communion
We are looking for six members of our church who are interested in helping serve communion on a Sunday morning. This person would sit through their service, and then help facilitate passing communion at the end of service. Please email jakob@dc2.me if interested.
Avenue Buddy
We are looking for adults and teens to join our Avenue Buddy Team. As a Buddy, you will be paired with either a child or youth who has special needs. As a 1:1 buddy, you will be friend and helper during the children's ministry classes or youth group gatherings. To learn more, email jen@dc2.me.
Sunday Morning Food Hosts
Our team of food hosts supports the Worship Arts ministries by bringing either dinner for Thursday night rehearsal or breakfast for Sunday morning's team. Mealtime check-in is a valuable time for us, and we would love to have you or your family be a part of it! Please email drew@dc2.me if you’re interested.
Stream Team
Part of our Sunday morning experience is providing a great online service for those who can’t make it in on a Sunday. Our online services reach people all around the world and we are looking for a few volunteers to run cameras. No experience required! Come be a part of a team that makes Sunday morning available to all. Please email drew@dc2.me if interested.
Worship Musicians
We are looking for people who play keys and bass or electric guitar. This is a great way to jump into community and serve in a way you’re passionate about. An audition is required. Please email alex@dc2.me for more info.
Local Serving Opportunities
Night Lights
Night Lights is growing and we are looking for additional volunteers to serve these amazing families! At Night Lights events, all children are paired 1:1 with volunteers, we can’t add more families until we add more volunteers! Please consider joining our volunteer team, no experience is necessary. Each Night Lights event has planned games, activities, crafts and a movie to enjoy alongside the child you are paired with. Please email jen@dc2.me for more information.
Compassionate Chefs
What do the Compassionate Chefs Do? At Discovery, we believe in helping others. When someone in our community is caring for a new baby, recovering from surgery or an accident, suffering from a death in the family, preparing for moving day, experiencing financial hardship, or consumed with tending to a sick child, we want to ease the burden by gifting them a meal. Your meal, planned with care, made with love, and hand-delivered at a time when our community member(s) is in the midst of stress, change, pain, or uncertainty is an emotional salve of friendship more healing than most prescription drugs.
How do the meals work? A Meal Train is created and as a chef you get the link, click it and see if the dates work for you to participate. If so, sign up for a day and share what you plan on bringing. If the dates don't work in your schedule right now, it's okay. Maybe next time it will! Ideally, we would love each chef to commit to making at least one meal 4 times a year. Are you interested in helping out? Contact Nichole Barnett at coblessed5@gmail.com
VOAD
Would you feel drawn to step up and help those who are hurting from an unexpected disaster in the community? VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) came alongside the City & County of Broomfield and other volunteer organizations during COVID and the Marshall Fire. When there are no disasters (thank you God) our team learns how to prepare ourselves and our loved ones for a disaster so we can best help others. Everyone is welcome. Contact Dave & Sarah Little at voad@dc2.me.
JJM
Juvenile Justice Ministry works with youth in the system—the most marginalized in the state. These are young people that are a part of the Division of Youth Services and the Department of Human Services. Some of the youth are Children in Need of Services (CHINS), some are involved in the legal system, and some cannot stay at home or in their current living situations. These youth have no social community to be involved in and lack resources and opportunities.
When you invest in this mission and come alongside a young person, in humility and with a posture to learn, you are transformed along with them. Giving your time and money changes the trajectory of these young people’s lives—many who are creative, artistic and entrepreneurial youth leaders.
Volunteer as a mentor, as part of our active prayer team, Bible study leaders, and more. We are looking for long term and weekly, committed, trusted adults.
