The goals of all Discovery Youth activities are:
- Connect each student with a caring adult.
- Create regular opportunities for students to encounter Christ on their own terms.
- Facilitate discussions and help students unpack difficult questions about faith, life, and the nature of God.
- Make a safe place for students to be themselves while experiencing a Christ-led life and experimenting with their questions and ideas.
Sundays 9am & 10:45am
Students will experience an integrated full service, aimed at their comprehension and maturity level. The service includes youth led worship, experienced and skilled teaching, and adult led small group discussions. The topics will generally follow adult church to help facilitate home discussions and encourage students to engage with their parents.
Middle School Tuesdays 6:30pm – 8pm
Students will enjoy games, an alternate teaching series, discussion groups lead by adults and high school leaders, and opportunities to experience life more intimately with their peers. Mid-week teaching series topics are determined by the current spiritual and life needs of our students. Topics are chosen as a youth ministry team, and particularly challenging topics are communicated with parents first.
High School Wednesdays 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Students will be challenged to investigate their ideas and feelings deeper with one another and adult leaders through teaching, service activities, and fellowship activities. Mid-week teaching series topics are determined by the current spiritual and life needs of our students. Topics are chosen as a youth ministry team, and particularly challenging topics are communicated with parents first.
Discovery Youth Special Events
Special events are built around encountering Christ in unique, distraction-free settings where students feel more free to explore their questions deeply and experience worship in a new way. Some events are built more intentionally around growing fellowship while others are aimed at intense spiritual growth.
Our ministry is staffed by experienced, talented, and loving staff members and carefully selected, trained, mature, and intensely loving adult volunteers, many of whom are also parents.
