Discovery’s Racial Justice Team
Mission
Discovery's Racial Justice Team's mission is to build awareness and promote racial justice advocacy grounded in theology and a deep and growing faith in Jesus. Volunteers meet monthly to learn together and lead Discovery's efforts in engaging in racial justice work. The desire is for this team to be diverse in age, gender, ethnicity, abilities, and political beliefs.
Guiding Values
Center work around theological conviction rather than a political bias rooted in the study, interpretation, and lived conviction of scripture
Model a spirit of curiosity and learning
Keep a posture of humility, reciprocity, and solidarity with people of color
Respect for the worth and dignity of each human being
Strive to include people of diverse racial/ethnic background, and experience
Hunger for a diversity of culture, experience, and thought
