What Discovery is offering

We are offering two mid-week hosted connection times to come together for an encouraging devotional and prayer time with others from Discovery and elsewhere. All are welcome. In these times of isolation, we can sometimes find ourselves struggling with many things or just need to talk to another person. This also gives us time to check in on each other, help strengthen each other, and hold each other up.

Geese9_23_TS.jpg

Why do geese fly in a V-formation?

Geese are communal.

They fly in a V-formation to reduce and deflect the wind. When the lead goose gets tired, it will move to the back and another goose takes its place to give them rest. Together, geese can fly further, longer, and with less effort.

Human beings were created for community too.

This is just as true for us spiritually as it is physically. God never intended for us to “fly” alone and isolated. We need relationships with each other for encouragement, refreshment, and growth. During these extraordinary days, due to the COVID-19 virus, many of us have needed to practice physical distancing to help contain the disease. We look forward to the days we can meet again face to face. But until then, we offer another way that we can 'fly’ together.

If you need private prayer time with someone, contact our Pastoral Care team at pastoralcare@dc2.me

The Lord God said, It is not good for man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.
— Genesis 2:18
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
— Ecclesiastes 4:10
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
— Ecclesiastes 4:12
